    As I understand, there is not an ipad that will useOS X OS X 10.8, OS X 10.9, OS X 10.10.  I want to use a touch pad.... Now what do I do?

    Is it possible for this to run simply off iPads and have no need to connect to the laptop or computer?

    I use this with my Mac and iPad with an app called Duet. This app allows me to use the iPad as a second monitor and therefore a touchscreen monitor. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id935754064
