Printing 2x6 classic photo strips

Printers do not support printing 2x6 strips directly so you'll need to configure dslrBooth to properly print 2x6 strips.

Afterwards, you can cut the 4x6 into two 2x6 either manually or if your printer supports it, have the printer cut it for you.

Windows

Step 1

Option 1

  • Go to Template Editor, change Paper Size to 2 x 6
  • Check the setting for Print 2 per page.
  • Now dslrBooth will duplicate your 2x6 template to create a 4x6 print that can be cut down the center.

This is a good option if you wish to share individual 2x6 strips on social media but wish to print two 2x6 strips on your printer. It'll also present print number options in multiples of 2.

Option 2

  • Go to Template Editor, choose Four Poses, Double Strip template or create one using Paper Size of 4 x 6 and Vertical Orientation
  • Manually duplicate your template on the left and the right.

This option is useful if you want additional control over the placement of all graphics, if you want different left and right side strips, or if you don't have the professional edition.

Step 2

  • If you have a professional dye sub printer that supports cutting, go to Settings, Printer Settings, and turn on the 2x6 cutting option for your specific printer. Below are what those settings look like for the DNP DS40. Your printer settings will vary depending on the printer you are using.

Mac

Step 1

  • Go to Template Editor, choose Four Poses, Double Strip template or create one using Paper Size of 4 x 6 and Vertical Orientation
  • Manually duplicate your template on the left and the right.

Step 2

  • Go to: dslrBooth, File, Print Settings, Choose your Printer, then Printer Features.
  • Your printer settings will vary depending on the printer you are using. Below is an example for the DNP DS-RX1.

If your prints are coming out rotated by 90 degrees, see this article

Is it possible to switch from 2x6 to 4x6 quickly? I have made both of the templates just need a faster way of transitioning between the two.

Mccamp32 and Josef, in the windows app you can use Multiple Template feature where you star your favorite templates and the guests can choose the template they'd like to use from the start screen. We'll be adding this to the Mac version in the near future. Different cutting options are not yet supported for multiple templates.

    Good morning.

I am trying to do the same but using 6x8 media and get the printer to print and cut two 4x6 photos.

I got a response from DNP saying that my RX1 does it but I cannot get it to work.

    Any thoughts?
